Content Policy
Last updated: May 28, 2026
1. Purpose and Scope
This Content Policy applies to everything that flows through Ludooka: books you publish to the marketplace, AI-generated stories and illustrations, voice clones, scans and uploads of physical books, cover art, author bios, profile pictures, reviews and any text or media submitted to the Service. It supplements our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy and Children's Privacy Notice.
Ludooka primarily serves children and families. Our standards are therefore stricter than those of general-audience platforms. Ludooka may, at its sole discretion, remove content or terminate accounts that violate this Policy, even if the content would be lawful elsewhere.
2. Strictly Prohibited Content
You may not create, upload, generate, publish, share, link to or attempt to elicit through prompts any content that:
- Sexualises minors in any way, or depicts, describes, suggests or simulates child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Suspected CSAM is reported to the relevant authorities (including NCMEC where applicable) and the account is terminated immediately.
- Depicts, glorifies or instructs self-harm, suicide, eating disorders, or use of weapons, drugs or alcohol by minors.
- Promotes terrorism, violent extremism, genocide, mass violence or the recruitment thereof.
- Incites hatred, harassment or discrimination against a person or group based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, caste, disability, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age or any other protected characteristic.
- Contains pornography, sexually explicit imagery, fetish content, or non-consensual intimate imagery ("revenge porn").
- Contains real-world instructions for the manufacture or use of weapons, explosives, biological, chemical or nuclear agents, or for committing fraud, hacking or other crimes.
- Infringes copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, publicity, privacy or moral rights of any third party. This includes fan-fiction, retellings, translations and AI re-illustrations of works you do not own the rights to.
- Impersonates a real person, brand or institution, or uses a real person's name, likeness or voice without verifiable consent.
- Is misleading, deceptive or constitutes deceptive marketing (fake reviews, fake author identities to game discovery, manipulated rankings, vote/credit manipulation).
- Is malware, phishing, spam, scams or unwanted commercial promotion.
- Violates any applicable law in any jurisdiction where the content is offered.
3. Restricted Content (Allowed Only With Limits)
- Violence and scary themes: May appear only when developmentally appropriate for the declared age range and clearly tagged.
- Religion, politics, ideology: Allowed when respectful, balanced and age-appropriate. No proselytising of minors.
- Public-domain works: You may publish adaptations of works confirmed to be in the public domain in every country you target. Burden of proof is on the publisher.
- Translations: Only of works you own the translation rights to, or that are in the public domain.
- Photographs of real children: Allowed as character inspiration only with documented parental consent.
- Voice cloning: Only with explicit, informed and revocable consent of the speaker (or parent for minors).
4. Quality and Discovery Standards
To protect the reading experience and the marketplace, content submitted for publication must also meet basic quality standards:
- Accurate, non-misleading metadata (title, age range, language, summary, category).
- Cover art that reflects the actual content of the book.
- Original or properly licensed text and illustrations throughout.
- No duplicate or near-duplicate listings of the same work.
- No "freebooting", re-publishing other Ludooka authors' work with minor edits.
- No keyword stuffing, irrelevant categories or SEO spam.
- Pricing that reflects genuine value; no manipulative pricing intended to game ranking algorithms.
5. AI-Generated Content Disclosure
Ludooka books are typically illustrated, narrated and (optionally) co-written with AI. You acknowledge and agree that:
- AI-assisted books are marked as such on their detail page when required by applicable law (including the EU AI Act).
- You remain the responsible publisher of every page produced from your prompts and edits, including AI illustrations and AI-generated text.
- You must review every page before publishing. You may not publish AI output that contains identifiable third-party characters, trademarks, copyrighted style signatures, or content that breaches Section 2 above.
- You may not present purely AI-generated text as the work of a real, named human author who did not author it.
- Ludooka may apply automated and manual safety review to AI generations and may refuse, regenerate or remove output at its discretion.
6. Scanned and Uploaded Material
The scan / upload feature is for personal, non-commercial study and accessibility use only. You may not publish, sell, share, broadcast or list scanned third-party material, or any AI translation, narration or illustration derived from it, on the Ludooka marketplace or anywhere else. See Section 5 of the Terms of Service for the full warranty and indemnity.
7. Review, Enforcement and Appeals
Books submitted to the marketplace go through automated and human review. We may also re-review at any time after publication. Enforcement actions Ludooka may take include, without limitation:
- Blocking a single AI generation.
- Refusing or unpublishing a book.
- De-listing from search, recommendations or curated rails.
- Suspending publishing, scanning, voice cloning or marketplace privileges.
- Withholding royalties earned from infringing or fraudulent listings.
- Suspending or permanently terminating accounts and forfeiting unpaid balances.
- Reporting unlawful content to competent authorities.
You may appeal a moderation decision once per matter by emailing appeals@ludooka.com within thirty (30) days, including the book ID and a reasoned explanation. Ludooka's decision on appeal is final.
8. Reporting
To report content you believe violates this Policy, email trust@ludooka.com. For copyright complaints, please use the dedicated DMCA / Copyright Policy. For suspected child safety issues, email childsafety@ludooka.com, these reports are prioritised.
For details about who owns the books on Ludooka, what licence you grant when you publish, and how royalties are calculated and paid, see Section 11B of the Terms of Service and the Author & Publisher Agreement.
